I have always loved trains, from the time I was born in Berkeley, CA in 1945 until present. I retired here in Grass Valley, CA USA. My father also loved trains and had worked for the Key System Transit Lines, Oakland Terminal Railway, Sacramento Northern Railway, Southern Pacific Lines and the North Western Pacific Railroad which all terminated in the San Francisco Bay Area. He was a member of the East Bay Model Engineering Society when located in Emeryville, CA. When I was growing up, he had always included my brothers and I in his rail adventures which obviously left many fond memories in my mind. Many of these memories I have relived through photographs, books, memorabilia, rail-fan outings and now, scale modeling. Just like my Father, I have passed my love for Railroading down to my son Shane Jackman.
Now retired from the electrical/mechanical engineering profession, I am enjoying modeling 1 1/2" scale trains and hardware as well as operating them. I am a member of the Sacramento Valley Live Steamers Rail Railroad Museum located in Rancho Cordova, CA where I can operate my 1 1/12" scale trains and socialize with others having like interests.
